Recent Activities:

  • MP 24.03 was successfully tested and moved to production on Friday evening, April 5th.
  • MP 24.04 (FAFSA updates, FM verification, ISIR Corrections) was moved to production on Friday evening, April 19th.
  • The DIP file and VSE changes (SACFA036.SQR) have been completed and are now in Production.
  • DIP file run control was updated in Production.
  • CMS/FA team reviewed 52 existing fields in the DIP file to understand where they are pulling from and will make the needed changes accordingly. 
  • Met with the OIR team around Pell Eligibility data and the best approach for accessing this data.  The CMS team agreed to create 2 views for OIR team, 1 prior to 24/25 and 1 after 24/25.
  • FA team notified users where the FA tab was removed in the Student Services Center.
Key Upcoming Tasks:
  •  OnBase is ready but the team will continue to make changes to the look of the VSE form (cosmetic changes).
  • FA team will test and give feedback on any changes to the existing fields on the DIP file.
  • CMS team to create views for OIR to access Pell Eligibility data.
  • MP 25.00 has been applied to TST and ready for the FA team to test.
 Risks & Issues:
  • The FAFSA Simplification implementation has posed numerous challenges for the Financial Aid office and IRT due to the processing delays in delivering the changes, bug fixes, and ISIR records.

The Department of Ed is making major changes to the FAFSA and how financial aid eligibility is calculated starting with the 24/25 FAFSA. We will need to have the changes updated in the system by fall 2023 semester to be ready to start processing for the 24/25 academic year. Information is still coming out from the Department of Ed as to all of the changes so I don't have specifics yet, however, they are major changes that will effect how financial aid awards are calculated for students.
