Student Success Imperative
Problem / Opportunity
Briefly summarize the problem or opportunity you propose to address. Write this in terms of the organizational problem being addressed, not in terms of the solution needed.
• Current communications to students are done manually, which has been inefficient and a challenge to consistency
• Current student account views in Campus Solutions for students are confusing and require explanation for clarity
• Adding and removing certain charges to student accounts is done manually, which is inefficient and not always timely
Goals & Objectives
Objectives are specific, measurable, and timed outcomes of the project that are stated in terms of the problem solutions or opportunities users will experience.
QBU (query-based updater) – to automate processes, such as sending a communication to students when new charges are added to their account
Communication Center – houses all communications sent via CommGen, and allows the use of pop-ups to display information that supplements the transaction page data.
Account Itemization – to provide the students with an account view that is more easily understood

Description

We have an opportunity to work with Sierra-Cedar, to implement system efficiencies that will improve communications to students and increase the level of service and understanding we can provide to them. All improvements have already been successfully implemented at CSU San Marcos, so we are not starting from scratch.
