Problem / Opportunity
Briefly summarize the problem or opportunity you propose to address. Write this in terms of the organizational problem being addressed, not in terms of the solution needed.
 Students will need to submit an enrollment deposit as part of their intent to enroll process following an offer of admission. This addition to our current practice provides an earlier and more accurate indication of who is truly intending on enrolling at Sac State. Having an early indicator allows the campus to better predict future enrollment.
 Students who qualify for a reduced enrolment deposit or are eligible to have their enrollment deposit waived must be identified so they are not held to the full enrollment deposit at the time they complete their intent to enroll.
Goals & Objectives
Objectives are specific, measurable, and timed outcomes of the project that are stated in terms of the problem solutions or opportunities users will experience.
All admitted students will be able to accept their admission and pay their required enrollment deposit by our May 1, 2016 ITE deadline for Fall 2016. Required enrollment deposit enrollment amounts may differ depending on a student’s Estimated Family Income which is determined by their FAFSA data.
Project Steps
Clearly state the major steps necessary to complete the project goals and objectives, with a focus on the non-IT planning steps required. List steps sequentially, with responsible parties noted.
1) Define criteria for enrollment deposit amounts – Student Affairs
2) Define how the enrollment deposit amounts will be applied to a student’s financial account – Student Affairs/Student Financial Services/Accounting
3) Define deadlines for enrollment deposit submission – Student Affairs
4) Determine whether the ITE process should continue via designated web page and fed into CMS or to utilize the ITE process that exists in CMS with necessary modifications. – Student Affairs and IRT
5) Test - All

Functional Teams and Other Resources
Please do your best to define personnel needed for your project, as well as your best estimate of the number of hours needed from those project team members.
We estimate that we will need approximately 40 hours of Admissions Office Time, 30 hours of Student Financial Services time, 20 Hours of Registrar’s Office time, 10 hours of Accounting Services and 10 hours of Financial Aid Office time.
Risks and Dependencies
Identify any factors that can affect the outcome of the project including major dependencies on other events or actions. These factors can affect deliverables, success, and completion of the project.
 The project is being requested for use by Undergraduate Admissions, we are unsure how this may impact the ITE process for International and Graduate Admissions since they currently use the same ITE process that is currently used by Undergraduate Admissions
 The project is time sensitive since we plan to use it for the Fall 2016 Admissions cycle which begins October 1, 2015.
Executive Sponsor
Each project must have an executive sponsor (VP / Cabinet level executive).
