Link to Strategic Planning and Mandates
This will link the project to the University strategy it supports. If it is not a strategic project, don't select any.
Student Success Imperative
Problem / Opportunity
Briefly summarize the problem or opportunity you propose to address. Write this in terms of the organizational problem being addressed, not in terms of the solution needed.
• With admissions numbers going down, we are looking for many ways to be more efficient in our application processing. This project will save many steps in the process thereby enabling staff to process applications more efficiently which in turn will get admissions decisions out quicker.
• The university administration has tasked OGS and IPGE in particular to increase admissions numbers
• Currently in order to properly log in a transcript, we must image it (if it is a hard copy version), index it into OnBase with the applicant’s student ID or first/last name, record that it is received in CMS and indicate transcript type, and then take it off the applicants check list if the transcript was placed on the checklist. This is then repeated for each and every transcript that the university receives.
• With the implementation of this process, when the staff index the transcript into OnBase, they will be able to input the pertinent information into the OnBase system at the time of indexing. OnBase in turn will communicate with CMS and transfer the information into the Education page and Checklist. Consequently, efficiency in processing applications will increase and as a result, admissions decision can be made earlier.
