Recent Activities:

  • MP 24.02 testing of 23/24 and 24/25 was completed and successfully migrated to PRD on 3/21/24.
  • MP 24.03 testing was completed and successfully migrated to PRD on 4/5/24 and began loading ISIRs on Monday, April 8th.
  • FA system team completed rollover item types, budget tables, and packaging plans for 2025 aid year.
  • FA system team completed set up estimated award item types and began awarding estimated aid.
  • CMS team completed the code/file layout changes for ISIR DIP file.
  • OnBase team has built the import file and data from DIP file successfully updates the VSE forms and contains all the data and keywords.
  • Security team created new PS security role to lock down access to the restricted FTI tables/pages.
  • Role has been assigned to only those approved by FA team as part of Phase 1.
  • SFTP solution has been configured to address security concerns around restricted data fields-waiting on the network drives to be created.
  • OnBase team created new AD account and new security group in OnBase for the VSE form for restricted data fields; group has been assigned to only those approved by FA team.
  • As part of the security lockdown for FTI, the FA Tab was hidden in the Student Services Center except for those assigned the new PS role.
  • Cognos reports have been updated to remove Pell Eligibility data.
  • DW team have removed Pell eligibility related columns from DW.
  • MP 24.04 (FAFSA updates, FM verification, ISIR Corrections) has been applied to TST and the team is currently testing.

Key Upcoming Tasks:

  • OnBase team is currently updating the look of the VSE (has all the data and key words).
  • FA team to test and confirm VSE form functions per requirements. Once they have confirmed, the changes will be migrated to PRD on 4/19/24.
  • FA system team has completed rollover but the checklist names in the disbursement rules need to be updated to the 2025 ones.
  • Tina will send an email to the individuals on the report explaining why the FA tab was removed.
  • DW team is working on validating the list submitted by CMS team around FTI, SAI and PI to understand the impact of the changes.
  • DW team is currently working with OIR on any reports that use the restricted tables.
 Risks & Issues:
  • Due to the delays in receiving the ISIRs, there is concern that there will not be enough time to update the 40+ (SQR and App engines) processes and test thoroughly by March 22nd when we need to request approval for migration to production.
  • The project team agreed to have a backup plan if there is further delay with the ISIRs.

Problem / Opportunity
Briefly summarize the problem or opportunity you propose to address. Write this in terms of the organizational problem being addressed, not in terms of the solution needed.
The Department of Ed is making major changes to the FAFSA and how financial aid eligibility is calculated starting with the 24/25 FAFSA. We will need to have the changes updated in the system by fall 2023 semester to be ready to start processing for the 24/25 academic year. Information is still coming out from the Department of Ed as to all of the changes so I don't have specifics yet, however, they are major changes that will effect how financial aid awards are calculated for students.
Functional Teams and Other Resources
Please do your best to define personnel needed for your project, as well as your best estimate of the number of hours needed from those project team members.
