Developed a budget forecast tool for colleges with newly acquired tagged AVD billing information. Will update the tool with more accurate data at the end of the semester.

Once AVD is operationalized (especially with billing), the project will be complete.

Link to Strategic Planning and Mandates
This will link the project to the University strategy it supports. If it is not a strategic project, don't select any.
Student Success Imperative
Problem / Opportunity
Briefly summarize the problem or opportunity you propose to address. Write this in terms of the organizational problem being addressed, not in terms of the solution needed.
Currently the University is using Remote access to physical computer labs which will have diminished capability as students return to campus. Additionally, software applications distributed through Citrix are being decommissioned May 2021. A capability is needed to provide services to students, faculty and staff virtually.
Main Goal Statement
This section defines the one central outcome that gives purpose and direction to the project. It is what you intend to do to accomplish to address the problem or opportunity identified above. Example: Complete current graduation requirements will be
Sac State responded to the changing landscape of the pandemic with short-term measures including offering off-campus access to lab software via RDP connections to physical lab computers. As we move forward into the post-pandemic world, Information Resources & Technology is partnering with the colleges to develop a more sustainable, equitable, and secure model of software access including development of a cloud-based virtual lab environment.
Goals & Objectives
Objectives are specific, measurable, and timed outcomes of the project that are stated in terms of the problem solutions or opportunities users will experience.
Goal(s):

Enable anytime, anywhere student access to required software.

Replace the existing remote IRT and college lab access model with a more sustainable model supported by our Microsoft licensing.

Impact/Benefit(s):

More equitable software access for students via cost-effective solutions such as Chromebooks and budget-friendly devices or laptops.

Increased agility, flexibility, and business continuity.

Improved financial planning by flattening out predictable expenses overtime and decreasing reliance on capital expenditure.

Enhanced infrastructure to support the future of online learning at Sac State - In a 2021 EDUCAUSE QuickPoll of university administrators, IT departments, and other staff, nearly 70 percent of respondents say they would like a remote option post-pandemic. This strongly echoes student sentiment regarding their future learning preferences. In a 2021 Digital Learning Pulse survey, 73 percent of students polled “somewhat” or “strongly” agreed that they would like to take some fully online courses in the future. A slightly smaller number of students, 68 percent, indicated they would be interested in taking courses offering a combination of in-person and online instruction.

Potential to increase collaborative, active learning spaces with a decrease in the footprint of physical computer lab space.
